Sweet Heart Cardigan
One of my family’s favorite books is The Amazing Idea of You, by Charlotte Sullivan Wild. One of the most touching details of the book to me — and the inspiration for this pattern — is the cardigan the main character grows up with.
This sweater is a seamless bottom up cardigan, knitted flat with short-row shaping, and a circular yoke featuring simple stranded color work and elongated stitches. The color work is worked over a single row, so there is no carrying the yarn across the back on a wrong side row.
The Yoke instructions for the color work section are given in both charted and written directions.
