Seems like lately I keep seeing these pre-packaged holiday mini cakes in every shop I visit, so I had to see what all the hype was about! All I can say, YUM!! Why not pay tribute by designing a crochet version of this?! This pattern will create a simple square but would make a great table runner by repeating the design a few times, or you could add a few repeats to a blanket for those cozy nights by a roaring fire, or even a fun pillow. It’s the same size as my other holiday-themed squares so you could join a few together into a unique holiday throw - The possibilities are endless!

This pattern includes a fully marked chart & written row-by-row instructions.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

You will need 2-3 colors of yarn - one for the background, another for the tree, and then a 3rd for the garland. You could use just 2 colors as in a typical mosaic project and then embelish the finished square with beads or French knots if you don’t want to do mid-row color switches.

This is a great way to use up scraps! For projects using all 3 colors, you will need approximately 2 oz of the background color, 1-1.5 oz of the the tree color, and less than 1 oz of the garland color, when using a worsted or aran (wt 4) type of yarn & a 5mm or 5.5mm hook.
