Sweet Medley
Sweet Medley combines seed stitch with color changing short rows to create a wonderfully varied result that you can put your own creative stamp on. Its a fun and simple project full of texture and drape. A personal favorite!
Additional Pattern Notes
The entire shawl is knit in the “Seed Stitch Pattern”
It is constructed from the bottom up casting on just a few stitches and building all the way to a incredible 90” wingspan! The short rows add depth and shaping without adding to the length of the shawl. The entire shawl is worked in an irregular striping pattern.
Pattern provides written instructions for the stitch pattern sequences. There is a detailed chart that guides you through the rotations of stitch patterns, yarn colors and tracks row by row stitch counts. There are also helpful links for all techniques used in the pattern.
Yarn
Sample yarns were hand dyed tonal colors that both complimented and contrasted each other. The options for color choice is wide open with this shawl. Solids, tonal, variegated, long color changing gradients or a mixture of all of them will work.
2 skeins of Handmaiden Fine Yarn Casbah, 1 in each color was used for the sample shawl.
Note - For different yarns you may want to plan for extra yarn ~ 400 yds (366 m) of C1 yarn and 420 yds (384 m) of C2 yarn.
