When I was 15 years old, a friend taught me how to knit a lace sweater. I made it from fluffy pink acrylic that was very popular at that time. I wore that sweater for so many years until all the fluff was gone. Now I am longing for something like that again. The sweater is a very easy top down lace sweater. It starts with the back panel to the underarm, then picking up stitches for the shoulder part, shaping with short rows to form the neckline and starting the front panels. Then join in the round ending with twisted ribbing. Easy to adjust with a longer body or with longer sleeves. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round in stockinette stitch. Worked straight and ¾ length, ending with a twisted ribbing. You also can skip the sleeves and wear it as a vest. The armholes have already a neat finish without adding sleeves.

7 (8, 8, 9, 10, 10, 11) balls Katia Concept
cotton merino (105 m/ 50 gr) 70%
cotton, 30% merino.
Gauge:
17 sts and 24 rows = 4” (10 cm) in
twisted ribbing blocked on needle 5 mm.
16 sts and 22 rows = 4” (10 cm) in lace
pattern on needle 5.5 mm.
Please check your swatch after wet
blocking! The fabric gets denser after a
soak.
Needles:
circular, minimum length 80-100 cm (32
inches)
size 5 mm (US size 8) for ribbing.
size 5.5 mm (US size 9) for body and
sleeves.
size 3-3.5 mm (US size 2 or 4) for picking
up sts.
