Introducing the Simple ‘n Sweet Scrunchie Pattern! Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a quick make, this pattern works up in no time and adds the perfect pop of charm to any hairstyle. Whether you’re using up leftover yarn or making a batch for gifts or markets, these scrunchies are as easy as they are cute. Get ready to create your new favorite hair accessory—simple, sweet, and totally irresistible!
This pattern is super beginner-friendly, and you can whip one up in just about 15 minutes! It’s worked in the round using a 6.5mm hook and super bulky weight yarn—chenille or velvet yarn works best for that soft, plush feel. The pattern includes two size options: one for medium hair and one for thick hair. The smaller size uses standard medium hair ties, while the larger version is made with thick hair ties.
All of my samples were made using the medium size. Instructions for the larger size will be noted in parentheses throughout the pattern, like this: S (L). You’ll also find a helpful photo tutorial at the end of the written instructions to guide you step by step.
Don’t forget to check out the “Possibilities” section before you get started! It’s a fun little space where you can explore different variations and creative ways to customize your scrunchie. My samples all stop after Round 2, but I definitely encourage you to experiment and see what you love best!
I want to say a huge thank you to my wonderful testers HandmadeKnitwear, miatkic, geeguess, Maylina, and PsalmsandStitches! This pattern wouldn’t be possible without you :)
