The fourth design in the Year of Gifts, the Sweet Pea Socks, are intricately cabled socks designed by Jennifer Burke in Perennial

We’re offering limited kits each month in conjunction with the release of the designs. The April kit includes a custom printed bag, 1 skein of Perennial, custom made sock stitch markers, a mini packet of Soak, and a postcard with a code to download the pattern for free. Worthy of Note
These socks are worked in the round from the top down. The pattern calls for double pointed needles (DPNs), but you may choose whichever method of working in the round on a small circumference that you prefer.

The pattern is written and charted for two sizes, Chart A is a 6” (15.5 cm) leg circumference and Chart B is 7” (18 cm) leg circumference; use the correct chart for whichever size you are knitting. The ribbing patten is very accommodating and stretchy.

Charts are read from the bottom up and all rounds are read from right to left.

Kelbourne Woolens Perennial (60% superwash Merino, 25% Suri alpaca, 15% nylon; 497 yds/100 gm skein): neon coral 825, 1 skein.
GAUGE
1 repeat (34 sts) in Chart A = 3” (7.5 cm).
1 repeat (40 sts) in Chart B = 3.5” (9 cm).
40 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Chart A and Chart B.
NEEDLES
1 – set US 1 (2.25 mm) DPNs.
1 – set US 2 (2.75 mm) DPNs.
Check your gauge and adjust needle size(s) accordingly if necessary.
NOTIONS
Darning needle, stitch marker(s).
SIZE
6 (7)” 15.5 (18) cm leg and foot circumference, unstretched, 7.5” (19 cm) from cuff to start of heel, foot length variable.
