The yardage information provided is for the hat 6-10 year size. I used an entire ball of yarn for this size. For sizes smaller than 6-10 years you will need less than 1 ball of yarn. For sizes Adult Small to Adult Large you will need 2 balls of Ultra Mellowspun DK.
