This is a simple lacy halter top for little girls. It begins with a horizontal lace band that is stitched together to form the bottom edge then stitches are picked up along the straight edge and the body is knit in the round until the back half stitches are cast off and work continues on the front stitches. The top edge is folded over and bound off, creating picot points and a pocket where a braided cord is pulled through to be tied behind the neck.

It can be knit in one color, and would only take 2 skeins of any of the below listed yarns. Otherwise, if using the two-tone effect the pattern calls for, the main color of the body takes for 2 skeins for the larger size and of course 1 skein of the contrast/trim color, or 3 skeins overall. If you have bits of leftover yarn, this would be a great way to use them for the trim/edgings.

Any light summer yarn in cotton or linen or really any plant fiber would work for this pattern. I recommend Knitpicks CotLin or Billow yarn, Fibra Natura’s Cottonwood yarn and Ella Rae’s Milky Soft.
