These socks are knit from the cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset heel construction and Kitchener Stitch to graft the toe. Suitable for knitters relatively new (or of course very experienced) to sock knitting. A vanilla sock pattern with a straight forward mock cable design which runs down the length of the leg and foot of the sock. Other than the special Right Twist (or Mock Cable) stitch, this pattern is knit in the round using only simple purl and knit stitches with some decreases and pick up stitches. If you have worked a cuff down, heel flap and gusset sock before, you’ll be able to knit this up in no time!

The pattern is written for 3 sizes, small (UK 5-6), medium (UK 6-7) and large (UK 7-8), but is very easily customizable to fit your own foot. As you’re knitting from the cuff down, you can slip your work over your foot to check the fit of the leg, heel and foot as you go.

Suitable for beginners with some knitting knowledge (casting on, joining and knitting and purling in the round, Kitchener stitch)

I have knit these socks using Terra Yarn by Symfonie Yarns (KnitPro’s own yarn) in Summer Romance, Pink Mauve, Jodphur Blue and Jasmine.

Any 4 ply sock yarn will do, however, the gauge I’ve worked to is 32 stitches to 41 rows using 2.5mm double pointed needles - you can use a circular needle and the magic loop method if you prefer.
