----- Sweet Suzette Squares -----
These fun, fast and easy squares are great stash busters and can be combined in any way you’d like to make special one-of-a-kind makes. The squares are worked back and forth in ROWS and then a simple BORDER is worked all around.
-
Yarn used: Caron Blossom Cakes in Island Time and Macaw.
-
Hook size: J.
-
(Please note, any weight and blend of yarn can be used, along with a suitably sized hook. Square size will of course be determined by yarn weight/hook size/ tension.)
-
When using Caron Blossom Cakes and a size J hook, squares measure approx. 6” × 6”.
-
Using worsted weight yarn and a size J hook, each square uses approx. 28 - 32 yards of yarn.
-
Stitch count of squares = 17 stitches per side.
I assembled my sample by joining 20 squares (4 x 5) with a TIGHT JOIN using SC. I then went around the blanket with FOUR rounds of Moss/Linen Stitch in the same color I used to join the squares. I did ONE round I using a contrasting color. I also did SC, CHAIN 2, SC in each CORNER SPACE for ALL of the rounds. Measures approx. 26” x 34”.
