Sweet Tea Socks
Sweet Tea Socks were inspired by the fancy tights I wore as a child. The lace pattern goes from top to bottom and is both delicate and cozy. Sunday sit downs with some sweet tea and these socks is as good as it gets for me!
Construction
Knit cuff down with a smooth heel for a perfect fit. A wide cottage toe is included as it suits the overall design the best.
A 12 round repeat with only 4 rounds of detailed work. The other 8 rounds are relax and knit time.
All 3 sizes are customized to keep the pattern centered around the leg and down the foot.
Method
My favorite method for sock knitting is MagicLoop technique. The pattern is written specifically for that, and is easily adjust if you prefer working on DPNs.
Yarn & Needles
All yarns colors and styles look lovely with this pattern! Speckled, striped, variegated, solids, heathered, tweeds… have fun choosing.
Sample socks were knit with Regia Premium Merino Yak, color 7510, beige meliert (a warm grey). Needles used were Chiaogoo mini twist, size 2.5mm (I sized up from my normal 2.25mm because the yarn is so plump).
Needle size 2.25mm / US 1 to 2.5mm / US 1.5 are recommended, match what works best for the yarn you choose.
Extras
Included are tricks for seamless joins, and a few other clever notes to keep you from staring at your row counter.
Beginner friendly sock pattern, and a perfect weekend knitting project.
Be kind, be well, and keep knitting, everyone!
