These sweet little bags are quick and easy to whip up using all those yarn leftovers in your stash.
Perfect for stocking stuffer small gifts, Christmas biscuits or chocolates, or Easter eggs.
These bags will also fit a rolled-up beanie or a pair of mitts – a cute gift to pop under the Christmas tree.
The perfect small project to learn the granny spike stitch.
A range of colour patterns are provided, for countless projects worth of inspiration!

Pattern Details:
- Project Level: Easy
- Yarn: DK/8ply/Cat. 3 weight yarn or Worsted/10ply/Cat. 4 weight yarn. Acrylic, cotton, or blends of these. Easy wash and no/low pill yarn recommended. ~60-80g/0.7-1.5Oz (varies with bag length).
- Hook: Use yarn label instructions as a guide for selecting hook size. Swatch to determine the optimal hook size for your tension.
- Bag Size: Varies with weight of chosen yarn and preferred bag length. DK base circumference ~9cm/3.5in.
- Gauge: Specific gauge not required for this design.
- Stitch Terminology: US. Refer to Abbreviations and Special Stitch Instructions.
- Notions: Scissors and darning needle.
- Pattern Synopsis: Instructions are provided for a gift bag that can be made to any preferred length. The base is constructed first, from two solid double crochet circles. The panel of the bag is added as solid rounds using double crochet and granny spike stitch. When the bag is near sufficient length the tie rounds and decorative shell top are added.
