Sweetheart Dress
This cute dress is a must-have for any fashionable girl doll. It has a flouncy ruffle on the bottom, and wide cap sleeves, and the doll can wear it to many different occasions.
I believe an experienced and comfortable beginner will be able to make this dress. If you have difficulties with the ruffle, please look up a tutorial for the stitches used in it. You will also need simple sewing skills.
The item(s) made with this pattern were meant to fit an 18-inch American Girl doll, as shown in the pictures. However, they will also fit similar dolls, such as Our Generation, My Life As, and others. I added a sizing chart to the pictures, to help you compare your dolls to the American Girl dolls.
It is recommended that you read entirely through the pattern before starting with it. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: While the dress is my pattern, the Newsboy Cap shown in the pictures is NOT! The cap was made by Deb Denair of Debonair Designs, and you can find the instructions for it here: Newsboy Cap
For this pattern I used:
~ Mainstays 100% Acrylic yarn, 4-medium in the color Pink Multi
You can use any other 4-medium worsted weight yarn you choose.
~ Knitting needles size: US 8 - 5.00 mm
- I want to keep my patterns free for everyone to use, but in return I would like to ask you not to sell them or claim them as your own. You are free to sell the completed projects you make with my patterns, however.
Have fun, and happy knitting!
