Sweetheart Hat for my Sweeties
The Sweetheart Hat is a fun, quick and cozy hat with sideways “heart cables” on the brim, and different sizes of hearts on the upper part using stranded knitting. It does require chart-reading (for both cables and 2-color stranded knitting) plus provisional cast-on and Kitchener stitch, but would also be fine with a seam.
I used less than a skein of each of two colors of the amazingly soft Millamia 100% wool yarn. It would also be beautiful with three colors--Use up a bit of your stash for the upper hearts, and different ones for brim and background! I even had enough to make a pompom.
The brim can also be used for a comfy headband if you simply kitchner the end to the beginning (and leave off the remainder of the pattern).
I’ll be sending modifications for other sizes (easily done by adding/subtracting rows/motifs on brim and upper hat). But I wanted to get this published in time for some fun Valentine’s Day projects.
