Sweetling Shawl
Sweetling is an old English word that means small, sweet thing. And that’s exactly what this shawl is! Using only two skeins of fingering weight yarn, this light-weight wrap, edged in an easy to work lace pattern is the perfect accessory to warm you on a chilly spring day.
It’s worked top-down in one piece according to the Half Pi Shawl formula, which is a modification of the Pi Shawl formula that was developed by the famous knitting guru Elizabeth Zimmerman. You begin at the top center by working a garter tab cast on, then work your increases according to the Half Pi Method. Detailed step-by-step instructions are provided. For the very last section, you knit a simple lace pattern and finish with a striped garter stitch border.
This is a perfect project for those exploring new shawl shapes and for beginning lace knitters.
