Welcome everyone, to Sweetpea the Toad crochet pattern. Which also includes step by step instructions to make a male toad too!

This little sweetheart is around 4” (11cm) tall when using a 2mm hook.

This pattern is more on the intermediate level, due to some of the intricasies involved. However, if you have a basic understanding of stitches and techniques used, i’m sure you’ll be fine. Note this pattern is wrote in English and uses US terminology.

The PDF file will include all the pictures and helpful tips along the way, to help you to complete your very own Valentines Toads.

The patterns are a PDF and require Adobe reader to open them. Adobe reader is a simple to use and free to download program but if you have any problems just send me a message, I’ll help out where I can.

In this pattern I used Hayfield Spirit (Spring) for her and Stylecraft Special DK for him.

You will need:
Approx 50g for the main body and legs.
Less than 20g are needed for the secondary colours which consists of the bow, cheeks and mouth for her and the hat, mouth, bow and collar for him.

Finally, a pair of 10mm safety eyes.
