Swell - by Ridge Knits

The colourwork pattern in this toque is inspired with the swirl, swell, and foam of ocean waves. The variations of garter stitch detail calls to mind the crest of a wave and the calm and smooth parts of the ocean current.

Swell is knit from brim to crown. The toque features easy to follow colourwork instructions and is perfect for beginner or advanced knitters. You may choose a pointed or rounded crown to suit your style preferences.

Baby (Toddler, Child, Adult SM, Adult L)
Fits head approximately: 14.5 (16, 20, 22, 24)“ around
Length: 6.5 (7, 7.75, 8.25, 8.75)” from cast-on to
crown point

Yarn:
MC: 60 (65, 75, 95, 115) yards of worsted weight yarn
(shown in Hinterland Range in “maple”)
CC: 20 (25, 25, 35, 45) yards of worsted weight yarn
(shown in Hinterland Range in “honey”)

Gauge:
18 sts & 28 rounds / 4” in stockinette and colourwork

Suggested Needles:
US #6 / 4 mm and US #8 / 5 mm (or as required to meet gauge)

Baby: DPNs in both sizes or a long circular needle for magic loop method.
Other sizes: 16” circular in both sizes and DPNs in larger size, or a long circular needle for magic loop method.
