This shawl illustrates the versatility of Brown Sheep Company’s Shepherd’s Shades yarn, utilizing the three hues within a colour gradient to mark the progress of an asymmetrical triangle shawl as it moves from light to dark or dark to light. The heavy weight yarn, easily memorized lace and mosaic stitch patterns, and clever colour play contribute to a swift and enjoyable knit. The pattern was designed for Brown Sheeps’ Fall Mystery KAL 2022.

The shawl is an asymmetrical triangular shawl knitted on the bias from one top corner towards one of the long sides. The colour blocks feature an easy to memorize lace stitch pattern, reminiscent of rows filled with arrowheads. The colour blocks are connected with stripes in mosaic knitting technique. Two different needle sizes are used to accommodate the different density of the stitch patterns used.

15 stitches and 24 rows = 4”/10 cm in Lace pattern on smaller needles, blocked
