Swink Socks use a pretty butterfly stitch in the leg, a ribbed heel flap, a stockinette foot, and a gathered toe. The free pattern on my website includes four sizes for children, and the paid PDF available here includes three additional sizes for adults.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Available Sizes: To fit 3 ¾, 5 ¼, 6 ½, 7 ¾, 9 ¼, 10 ½, 12 inch foot circumferences, or roughly equivalent to US children’s shoe sizes 2, 6 ½, and 10 ½, larger children’s shoe size 1, women’s shoe sizes 8 and 12 ½, and men’s shoe size 15 ½.

If you are knitting a sock for a child, and their foot circumference falls between sizes, I suggest knitting the next size up so that they can grow into it.
