Swirl Slipover
Construction:
This pattern combines different structures, braids and cables in a slipover that is knitted from the top down. First the backpiece is worked, then stitches are picked up at the seam to form the shoulders. The front and back are joined and the body is worked in the round. Finally, all the rib edges are worked.
The pattern contains a description for the rib edge of the body, both with and without a slit in the each side.
The structural patterns on the slipover are described through diagrams, where each stitch is depicted by a 1x1 square.
Sizes:
This pattern contains the sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) corresponding to a circumference of the slipover of 89 (94) 98 (103) 112 (123) cm.
We recommend a positive ease of around 5-10 cm, which means that for a bust circumference of 88 cm we would recommend a size S, resulting in a positive ease of 6 cm.
Gauge:
18 stitches x 24 row = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch.
One diamond measures 3,5 cm in width x 5 cm in height.
Needles:
Circular needles: 4,5 mm and 3,5 mm with 80 cm wires (and 40 cm wires to avoid magic-loop) plus a cable needle.
Keep in mind that these needles are indicative, and we strongly advice you to make a swatch to ensure your gauge is correct.
Yarn suggestion:
This slipover is knitted in 2 strands: one strand Lima (50 g = 100 m) by Drops and one strand Kid Silk (25 g = 210 m) by Drops.
Amounts:
300 (350) 350 (400) 450 (500) g Lima and 75 (100) 100 (100) 125 (125) g Kid-Silk.
