Swirl "Super Swatch" Cowl
Really want to knit a Swirl, but feeling a bit too daunted by the prospect to start?
Or maybe you’re itching to start that Swirl, but don’t want to knit that all-important swatch because, phooey, all you end up with is a dumb square?
Well, then, I have just the thing—a nifty little cowl pattern that allows practice of most of the skills required to knit a Swirl and also serves as the ideal swatch—one that is good-sized and knit in the round.
You’ll need a copy of Knit, Swirl! Uniquely Flattering, One Piece, One Seam Swirl Jackets by Sandra McIver, approximately one skein of the yarn, or yarns, you’re considering using to knit your Swirl, and a 16” or 20” circular needle of appropriate size.
Directions included allow you to calculate the number of stitches needed to create a cowl of minimum circumference for you, but please do make your cowl as long and as tall as you please.
Happy Swirling!
Sandra McIver
