SWISS CROSS COWL

This cowl has been inspired by recently published JUJUKA COWL in my CAPSULE book for Brooklyn Tweed. This version of crosses patterning is worked in thicker yarn and smaller scale for an instant gratification accessory. Just like JUJIKA this cowl, it is work bottom up and in the round with live stitches later grafted in colorowork to form a continuous seamless tube. With additional volume and doubled thickness it provides extra warmth and shelters one’s neck from the elements.

Brooklyn Tweed Quarry (100% American Targhee-Columbia wool, 200 yards/183 meters/100g);
(MC) - 1 skein in color Lazulite
(CC) - 1 skein in color Moonstone

OR about 200 yards each color of any chunky weight yarn

NEEDLES
US 11 (8 mm) circular, 24-32” long

NOTIONS
Crochet hook size K/6.5mm
Spare circular needle, same size or slightly smaller than main needle
Stitch markers (1 in a unique style or color for beg of rnd)
2 tapestry needles
Scrap yarn

GAUGE
10 sts and 16 rows = 4” in colorwork pattern worked in the round, after washing, measured when dry
