Swoonerang
This is a pattern for those yarns that make you swoon in the shop !
You know the ones - so beautiful that you have to buy them, but then what the heck are you doing to make ?
The pattern combines a lovely lace stitch that looks good on both sides with a simple boomerang shape so that you can just knit until you run out.
(Back in 2013, my husband came up with the term “boomerang” for this asymmetric triangle shape which has a gentle curve along the top edge to hug the neck - it seems to have caught on and is used by others now too). click here for a link to all of my boomerang shaped patterns.
With 300m and loose gauge you can get a topline of 150cm/60”
- If you want a larger item, just allow more yardage.
Works well with 400m of sock yarn.
Testing showed that it can work with striping yarns too - so you can use pretty much any yarn: the stitch is pretty enough for a solid, but really emphasizes shading in special yarns like those made by malabrigo.
