Sword Socks
I promised a friend of mine a sword from the medieval festival, but was unable to get one for him so I decided to craft one: but there were absolutely no pattern with a sword in it!
My idea was to place the sword on the back of the socks to be able to make it long enough and as straight as possible.
Imagine it as the Sword of Gryffindor, the Sword that was broken, maybe even a sword made of dragonsteel. Wear it with pride, or give it to someone that deserves it.
A wonderful test knitter made the socks with the sword in another colour using intarsia in the round, instruction for this is not included in the pattern.
I’ve made it one size to fit a man size EU 43-44 (US9.5-10) but you can make them longer or shorter as you wish! They are quite stretchy so they are easy to convert into smaller or bigger sizes.
Depending on your cable technique you may also need a cable needle.
I used 1.5skeins of Hillesvåg Fjord, but you can use any dk weight yarn as long as the gauge is right.
