MATERIALS: Just purl and plain stitches are used to make the handsome stitch pattern for these socks. The instructions are written to allow for two leg lengths and one or two patterns in the instep. You will need: 2 (50 g) balls Lady Galt Kroy 3 ply for Standard Length for foot sizes up to 11 or 3 balls for sizes 11½ and 12. 2 balls for all foot sizes in Shorter Length. Set of four 2¼ mm (No. 13), (U.S. 1) knitting needles (points at both ends) or whichever needles you require to produce the tension given below.
MEASUREMENTS:
Standard Length–Length of leg to bottom of heel flap 13½ ins. (11-inch leg).
Shorter Length–Length of leg to bottom of heel flap 10 ½ ins. (8-inch leg).
TENSION: 9½ sts and 13 rows = 1 inch with 2¼ mm (No. 13) needles in stocking st.
