Symmetrical Harmony
This pattern is in the overlay mosaic crochet method and written in UK terms. It is suitable for absolute beginners wanting to try mosaic crochet as it uses simple double and treble crochets only and has both the written pattern and the chart with Xs marked where the trebles go.
You can use this pattern for anything from table placements to cushions, from lap blankets to huge bed throws.
You can use any yarn. Different yarn weights will alter the size of what you make and you will need to adjust your crochet hook accordingly. I used a 4mm hook with DK yarn from Marriner Yarns, approximately 5 100g balls of each colour.
The pattern made up as shown is two repeats of the pattern width wise and four repeats length wise and is 45 inches x 58 inches and each repeat measures approximately 20.5 x 14 inches.
There are also two options to the pattern where you can decide whether to have the central square columns or not. The last two photographs show the pattern without the central square column. The pattern is easy to follow for either option and comes with a pdf of both the full written pattern and the charts.
