Syncopation #1
As a knitwear designer, one of the most common questions I am asked is, “How do you think of these things”? In the case of Syncopation #1 and the series to follow, the inspiration came from an unexplained posting to my Facebook page of an oversized linen dress, printed or sewn, in bold, uneven, colorful stripes. I immediately thought…hmmm, that concept could be a great scarf. Fun to knit, this scarf is worked entirely in garter stitch in different directions, which adds interest and extra texture. An “edging” detail and garter stitch grafting will, perhaps, offer a new technical challenge for some. Shown in Pascuali’s, Pinta, any yarn and color combination can be equally successful. Have fun with creative stripes!
The pattern calls for 6 different colors or 50g skeins. You can get two scarves from this amount of yarn.
