A little about Syncopation. When I first created this shawl I was looking for a different take on my most popular Shawl “The Solfege Shawl” I was looking to take the garter and eyelet combination to a new and different orientation. In music the term, Syncopation, is a way of accenting a beat that is not typically accented. Ragtime is a great example of syncopated rhythms.

This is the first pattern of Now you can KNIt with Do Re Mi volume 2.

Needle: One 32 inch US size 4 or size needed to obtain 5.5 stitches per in UNBLOCKED GARTER
Stitches Needed:
Knit
Knit in the front and bacK– Knit both legs of the stitch
Knit thru the bacKloop
Knit two together
Yarnover
