Syys – a rectangular wrap – is knit diagonally beginning from a corner at one end towards the opposite corner at the other. Bold stripes emphasized by lace rows are contrasted with vertical slipped stitch lines. An integrated i-cord finishes the edges. As the fabric consists mostly of garter stitch and lace is worked on the wrong side only, there are no purl rows in the pattern. Syys is a word in Finnish meaning autumn.
