Syyskuu is a cosy hat with a folded, contrast-colour brim. The fun pompom on top adds a bit of playfulness. This pattern is suitable for beginners, as it features basic stitches only.

MATERIALS
Yarn: C1: 1 skein of Semilla Melange by BC Garn (100% wool, 191 yds / 175 m – 50 g), colourway 12.

C2: 1 skein of Lammull by Vänö Ull (100% wool, 164 yds / 150 m – 50 g), colourway black-white.

If you decide to use another yarn, you will need approx. 104 (115, 127) yds / 95 (105, 115) m of sport-weight yarn in C1 and 100 (111, 122) yds / 92 (102, 112) m of sport-weight yarn in C2.

Needles: US 1.5 / 2.5 mm and US 4 / 3.5 mm 16” / 40 cm circular needles and DPNs of the same size for small circumference knitting, if not using the Magic Loop Method.

Notions: Stitch markers, cardboard (if you don’t have a pompom maker).

GAUGE
23 sts x 34 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 4 / 3.5 mm needles in Stockinette Stitch, after blocking.

CONSTRUCTION
This hat is knitted seamlessly in the rnd from the brim to the crown. It features a deep brim in 2 x 2 Ribbing worn folded double, a stockinette body in a contrast­ing colour and a fun pompom on top.
