Tabitha's Tree Shawl
This shawl is worked from the bottom up, with a center patterned gusset in the style of the wonderful Faroese shawls from the famous islands. The first shawl I ever made was in this style, and I found it great for wearing around the house and outside while working. The cat, however, claimed that one for his own “blankie,” so I needed to make another! I wanted something heavy and warm, so I used worsted weight yarn (this also means fewer stitches overall, so it goes fast). Garter stitch makes this reversible as well.
The version that requires the larger amount of yarn is done with a size larger needle; the pattern explains this. Pattern gives both chart with notes for particular rows and a fully written pattern.
NOTE Dec. 14, 2014: corrected version is uploaded.
