Tabula Rasa Cowl
Description
The Tabula Rasa Cowl is perfect for adding a pop of color and texture to your wardrobe. It is mainly worked in stockinette stitch, giving the fabric a smooth and polished finish, while intermittent rows of eyelets and contrasting stripes lend visual interest. The striping provides an excellent opportunity to use up smaller amounts of art yarn, handspun or colorful scraps in your stash. This pattern is well suited for many skill levels, from the adventurous beginner seeking to expand their skillset, to the expert knitter looking for a satisfying project to use up some fun yarn. Let the Tabula Rasa Cowl be your canvas for artistic expression!
This pattern has been tech edited by Kim Wilkerson of Knit Julep.
Construction
The first section of the pattern is worked flat from the top down, establishing the triangle shape via yarn over increases at the edges and on either side of the center stitch. In the second section, the piece is joined and worked in the round, maintaining stitch count by working decreases along either side of the back seam while continuing yarn over increases along either side of the center stitch.
