Tagfalter
Tagfalter (or day flapper) means “butterfly” in German. This is a sister design to the Nachtfalter fingerless mitts. This time, the motif is reversible and runs along the length of the scarf and around the cowl.
This scarf is knitted flat on the long side with reversible cables and eyelets within a Garter stitch fabric. The cowl uses a “möbius” or infinity cast on and is knit in the round.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Long tail cast on and/or infinity cast on, knit, purl, yarn over, knit-front-back, knit-2-together, knitting cables, sewn bind-off.
GAUGE:
22 sts/30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
22 sts/48 rows (24 ridges) = 4 inches in garter stitch
Gauge is not important for this project, but a different gauge will result in different final dimensions and yardage need.
