This sweater has been tested up to a 46” size. I am eager to have it tested in larger sizes, so if you’re interested in knitting a larger size and can test knit it for me, please contact me. As a token of appreciation, once the test knit is complete, I will refund your pattern purchase and provide you with a code for a free pattern.
This yoke neck sweater showcases a textured design of peacock feathers. My fascination with peacocks began with a trip to Brownsea Island when I was a young child. It was a wonderful day; the peacocks were breathtakingly beautiful, remarkably loud, and quite mischievous, even snatching our Ritz biscuits! That memorable day has stayed with me, and my affection for the spirited bird has endured.
The sweater is designed and knitted in Malabigo Arroyo, but can be made in any yarn that gives a gauge of 24 sts (and about 36 rounds) on 3.5 mm needles. The stitch count is MUCH more important than the number of rounds.
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down with some short row sections that help to shape the neck and body so that the sweater is a touch longer at the back than at the front. After working the yoke, the sleeves and body are separated and worked in the round. The sleeves are designed to be full length, but you can make your sleeves any length.
The sweater is designed to be worn with 0 – 10 cm / 0-4 inches of chest ease. The measurements below are finished measurements, please refer to the schematic on page 9 for more detailed measurements.
