This sporty design features alternating cables on the body with complementary ribbing on the sleeves. A variation of the cable motif highlights the raglan shaping. The emphasized cable stitches remind me of a flock of birds soaring, thus the name “Take Flight”.

Karine’s sweater was lightly blocked for natural shaping at the waist. If you prefer a different fit, you may adjust the amount of ease to suit your style. You’ll find this sweater is as fun to make as it is to wear! Karine is modeling her sweater knit with Cumbria in the Catbells colorway. Cumbria is a worsted/size 4 yarn from The Fabric Co, and is available for purchase at KindredKnits.com.

Once you’ve purchased the pattern and entered your measurements KnitWiz generates the schematics and pattern instructions behind the scenes. On your project page you’ll be able to change the ease, get an accurate yardage estimate based on your measurements, substitute yarns, and change the “recommended” gauge.

Suggested yarn: Cumbria from the Fiber Co.

Construction: The body is knit in the round from the bottom to the arm openings and placed on holders. The sleeves are then knit flat to the arm openings and loaded onto the needles - one on each side. The raglan shaping is worked in the round to the neckline, and then worked flat to finish the raglan shaping and shape the neckline.
