Takes A Village
A scarf that gives you the look of ribbing, but it’s not quite ribbing. Bonus is that it has no purl stitches for you purl haters! Simple repeat, so it’s great for travel and TV knitting. Works up in no time with DK or Worsted yarn.
There is actually a little story that went with this scarf design. In January, we lost one of our dogs who had numerous medical issues. It was pretty rough on us. The next morning, I noticed my husband putting on one of the first scarves I had ever made. I felt bad because I realized I hadn’t actually made him a one in so long. Later that day, I decided to take my mind off things and work up a design for him for a new scarf. I knew he didn’t want anything too fancy looking, but I didn’t want a basic rib stitch either, so this pattern is what I decided on.
I don’t know how we could’ve taken care of our old pup had it not been for some amazing doctors and my husband and I working together. It took a village to care for Bosley, but it was worth every moment of it.
This pattern will be free for a couple of weeks, then I’m going to charge $1 for it (plus 30 cents for PayPal). The only reason I’m doing this is because I want to take any money made from this pattern and donate it to TLC Pet Rescue of Georgia. They rescue animals from high kill shelters, give them the medical attention they need, and try to find them a forever home. It breaks my heart to think that Bosley may never have gotten chosen at the rescue we got him from because of his age and condition, so I’d like to help support this shelter who would’ve taken in someone like him. I’ll update this listing periodically with the donations I’ve sent.
