Taking Chances
This pattern is a slouchy hat (that can be worn as a beanie) made from a stunning Merino Silk Fingering weight, by Ancient Arts Yarns. This hat is the perfect accessory to any outside outfit and makes a wonderful all seasons hat for the chilly days in winter or cooler nights of summer.
This pattern is inspired by the challenges and choices we are faced with as we journey through life. To start, the background colour is wrapped in bold colours of chaos, similar to the unpredictable nature that is our journey. With each colourwork transition, a series of holes are found, strategically laid out to cause us to watch our step as we move onto the next piece of the path.
The first colourwork series represents the forks in the road we must choose between before accepting our fate. Finally, we reach the mountains we must climb as we continue to ascend.
Life is all about taking chances… making choices and encountering risk. Each person must first decide what path they want to embrace and then follow where it leads.
Inspired by many wonderful people who have walked the path before me, this piece is a tribute to them and the person I have become because of them. Thank you for showing me the benefit of Taking Chances.
