Update 12/26/2020

Hey all! I am finally getting around to making a few updates to the pattern. It’s re-organized a little and I corrected the error with the chart key.

Ravelry user Sanity provided written instructions for the charts, and they are included in the new pattern! Thank you!!

About

Captain Marvel was my gateway comic to the rest of the Marvel universe. When I saw she was getting a movie, I felt inspired to try and design a shawl for her. This is my first ever design, and I’m excited to share it with the world!

This is a textured, faroese shaped shawl - the first section is a slip stitch pattern with garter/stockinette stripes (charts included). The second texture section is a wrap-stitch lattice (written instructions). The border is an applied lace border (chart included).

The Hala star is needlepoint separately using a long/short stitch and then sewn on to the shawl. A schematic of the needlepoint pattern is included.

Size

The pictured shawl is around a 57” total wingspan, and 25” from the cast-on to the lowest point on the border.

Gauge

20 sts x 26 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch.

Materials

For the pictured shawl:
• 240 yds (1 skein) Dream in Color Classy – Miami Red
• 100 yds (1 skein) Dream in Color Classy – Amber Glass
• 800 yds (4 skeins) Dream in Color Classy – Indigo
• 30 yds (1 skein) Pepper Pot Silk Yarn – Color 046 Papaya

I want to thank LYS The Black Purl for helping me out with yarn suggestions, and pattern help!
