Talvitassut
Ohjeen langanmenekki on toistaiseksi suuntaa-antava. Pienemmät koot onnistunevat 100 grammalla pääväriä, koko 39/40 menee kuitenkin jo kolmannen kerän puolelle.
Pääväri keskiharmaa, Maija 205, n 120 g
Kuvioväri 1, valkoinen, Maija 201, n 50g
Kuvioväri 2, vaalea turkoosi, Maija 290, n 50g
Suurkiitokset koeneulojille!
Talvitassut (“Winter paws”) is my first pattern published on Ravelry. It is a free pattern, but if you make socks for sale, I wish you to donate a bit of the money to an animal welfare project of your choice.
The socks, with kittens surrounded by snowflakes, were inspired by the memory of a little cat called Kuura (“Frost”). Kuura didn’t belong to anyone: she was probably born out in the wild, and was found in February when the temperature had been -20 Celsius for quite a long while. She was rescued and taken to the vet, being severely hypothermic and hypoglycemic. Sadly, even after days of gentle care in a warm place, she was not able to recover. The only help available was putting her to sleep.
For the socks you’ll need about (100-)120 g of main color, and 50 g each of the contrasting colors in 6-ply sock yarn.
There is only the Finnish version available, but you should be able to follow the charts on the last page quite easily. You start by casting on 75 stiches for the mock cable. After that, you follow the first and second chart. Mock cable also comes in after the second chart, before the heel. Good luck for those adventurous enough to try!
