Tamarack Tweed Hat
by Jenni Hodges
This quick and easy pattern makes a light, squishy hat with a striking tweed pattern and brioche brim. The slip-stitch design is worked in the round with one color at a time. Shifting the start of each round creates a seamless look with no jogs in the rows of garter stitch. I designed this hat as a stashbuster for one of my favorite yarns (Wool of the Andes sport) and named it after my favorite snowshoe destination. You can make a larger or smaller hat by changing your yarn/needle size or adding/subtracting multiples of 8 stitches. Also, option to felt lightly to make this hat more dense, sturdy and snug (see final photo).
