Tamesis Cowl
Tech edited by Ashley Knowlton.
A wonderful project for that one skein of something special.
A tiny bit of cabling, an eensy bit of lace, and a whole lot of twisted stitches. The twists and turns of this cowl remind me of the way the River Thames meanders through Oxford, and I’ve given it the river’s old Celtic name.
The pattern is written for two different weights of yarn - bulky and heavy DK/ light Aran- but can be adapted for almost any weight of yarn simply by knitting more repeats. Knit in the round.
The lace and cable pattern is charted as well as written out line-by-line.
Finished measurements: 38-57 cm / 15-22 inches circumference, 20-24 cm / 8-9 inches high, depending on yarn used.
note: error in the yarn requirements: the Blacker Designs Aran will require more than 1 skein- it was test-knit with a large 100g skein of the yarn, so will require two 50g skeins (although probably not all of two skeins).
