For this new design, I have created one chart in brown, orange, green and yellow colour choice. This chart gives you the colour change ideas in the motifs.
I have also added information on the principles of colour blending so that you can make up your own colour ways.

Yarn Choice 1 (Experimental)
I used Gathered Sheep yarn, hand dyed 100% pure British yarn ‘Wildwood Yarn Bundle’ which knits as 4ply, (The same weight as Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift) for the rib and background body of the hat. For all the motifs, I used vintage Tapestry Yarn that I have collected over the years. The combination of the 2 types of yarns gives a very solid knit, which I always like the feel of – it’s a little like a Moroccan carpet.

Yarn Choice 2 - Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift yarn will also work for both the background colour of the hat and for the motifs. Use 2:5mm needles for the rib and 3mm needles for the hat body.

This design sheet gives you a list of colours for the test knit in Jamieson’s of Shetland by elsbethr
as well as information on experimenting with Tapestry yarn for the motifs.

The hat is knitted in the round and there are 3 purl rounds within the design to give it shape and a beautiful hand made design touch.

The design sheet includes instructions, chart, images of alternative colour choices and tips including placing markers, colour blending principles and contrasting your colour choice.

This design sheet will be a spring board to really make this design your own.
