Tammy
Tammy is a simple crocheted hat, made in the round using a combination of ¾DC* , SC and puffs. With an optional pom pom trim. It’s intended for an adult size head, but it will fit a teenager size head too!
- I must have been daydreaming (or went a bit crochet crazy), but I’ve gone and used a stitch that doesn’t appear to exist either in UK or US crochet! But I like the stitch and it also adds a nice wee twist detail to the pattern, so I’ve decided to stick with it! It’s not quite a HDC and not quite a DC, so I’ve called it a ¾DC! Details on how to make the stitch are in the pattern notes. Other than this, only basic skills are required including forming magic rings, single crochet, making clusters, increasing and decreasing; the tutorial gives full instructions as well as images.
My hat measures 54cm around the head, 21cm diameter and 8.5cm deep. There is some give (maybe up to 56cm), but size will also vary depending on the yarns/crochet hook you use. If you’re a competent crocheter it should be easy enough to do a bit more increasing and/or less decreasing if you need it a bit bigger! Details for all the materials I used and quantities are noted on the pattern but Ask a Question if you’d like to know more.
The PDF pattern is an instant download and once you get started I’m here to help if you need it.
