Tangerine Lace Shawl
This lace edged bottom up triangular shawl can be made with pretty much any weight of yarn, and any size needle, depending on the type of fabric, and size shawl you want to end up with. Different weights of yarn and/or different needle sizes will give you a different finished size. This shawl is adaptable to you.
This design is quite suitable for beginning lace knitters as it uses the most basic lace techniques of yo, k2tog, ssk, k3tog, and sssk. And the pattern is repetitive enough that you can even knit it in front of the TV.
The sample shown was created using Cloud9 Fibers Filo in Begonia, and a U.S. size 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle. This combination of yarn and needle size gave me a light and airy fabric with a gauge of approximately 24 stitches to 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
The shawl measures 64 inches across and 40 inches deep, and used approximately 750 yards.
The pattern has both a chart and completely written out directions.
