A corner-to-corner blanket inspired by a tangram puzzle. Each piece features a different texture but they all use only knit and purl stitches. The entire blanket is worked in one piece with no seaming. It is a great project for an advanced beginner looking to try new stitch patterns and intarsia.

I used an acrylic worsted yarn, but any kind of yarn would work with this pattern. A different gauge will affect the final size. Each skein was about 3.5 oz (100 g) 191 yd (175 m), and I ended up using about 1 skein of purple, red, green, beige; half a skein of yellow, orange; and two skeins of blue and pink. My finished blanket size is about 74” (187 cm) corner-to-corner, or 52” by 52” (132 cm by 132 cm). Guidelines are provided for making a different size. Because the middle part can get quite long, cable needles would work best.

Have fun with it!
