This pattern is my own design for a knitted tank top, shorts (with side cable detail) and a purse. It is designed to fit an American Girl doll.

Materials:
• DK (double knitting) or light-worsted weight yarn (such as Snuggly Baby Bamboo) in two colours
• 3.25 mm needles
• 2 buttons
• yarn needle
• cable or double-pointed needle

Gauge:
approximately 27 stitches = 10 cm / 4 inches using 3.25 mm needles

Techniques/Stitches:
• long-tail cast-on
• short rows
• M1L (make one left)
• ssp (slip, slip, purl)
• cables (C6F, C6B)
• For the string that ties the top around the neck, you have some options - you can make an I-cord, crochet a chain or use a piece of fabric ribbon
