Tank Top Revival
Don’t get rid of that tired, old tank top just yet. This pattern gives instructions on how to revive that tank top by adding one, two or more panels to any part of the tank top that you want. Instructions are given so that it’s easy to make the panel for any length of tank top. The panels are crocheted separately and then sewn into the tank top. Detailed instructions are given on this process.
Or if you don’t want to do any sewing, you can just make the sleeves. The sleeves are open on the under arm section and can be made 3/4 length or full length. They are crocheted directly onto the tank top strap and make a great addition to any tank top with or without the panels.
I used Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 crochet thread in color #226/Natural. The amounts are as follows: 110 yards per panel for a 16” tank top length, add an extra 12 yards of thread for every 1.5” extra length; 230 yards for one shorter sleeve; and 425 yards per double sleeve.
If you are making the panel, other materials required are: tape measure, scissors or seam ripper (depending where you are adding the panel), sewing needle, straight pins, sewing thread to match crochet thread.
