Tanne
There is also a child version of this pattern:

If I didn’t love to read as much as I do, I would probably knit and design double amounts of what I do today… But I love to switch between the two. When working on this sweater I was reading a book written by one of my favourite authors; Karen Blixen.
I had to force myself to continue the knitting, her books are the kind that you cannot put aside..
Her nick-name was Tanne, and I hope she wouldn’t have minded me naming my new sweater after her.
Design and stitches
This sweater has everything I want from a favourite sweater; lots of interesting stitch-patterns, broad ribbing, saddle-shoulders for a great fit… a neckline that could be worked low or high.
And, due to all the different stitch-patterns it was fun to knit!
There are double moss-sts, cables, eyelets, twisted sts and clusters…
Sizes
Finished chest measurements are:
97/105/112/120/127/135/142/150/158 cm = 38/41/44/47/50/53/56/59/62”.
Sample is made in size 1, with approximately 12.5 cm/5” of ease.
I recommend 0 - 5” of ease. Or maybe oversized…
Materials
Yarn: I recommend a worsted weight yarn with great stitch-definition that knits up to gauge.
I used Lark from Quince & co., in the colourway “Audoin”, to work my pullover. This worsted weight yarn comes in skeins of 50 gr/1.76 oz, and 123 m/134 yards.
Of this specific yarn you will need approximately 1200/1280/1400/1520/1620/1700/1820/1940/2120 m = 1308/1395/1526/1656/1765/1853/2114/2115/2310 yards. Needles: you need a circular needle, 80 – 100 cm/32 -40” long, size 4 mm/US6 to work the lower and upper body, a set of dpns’ size 4 mm/US6, or small circular needle to work the sleeves. You need a circular needle, 60 cm/24” long, size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the ribbed neckline.
Gauge
21 sts and 30 rows/rounds in double moss-st = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”
The pattern
- All stitch-patterns are charted, as well as written out, round-by-round, except for the double-moss which is written out only.
- There is a schematic
- All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
- All necessary stitch-counts are given.
Knitting skills: there are no difficult sts involved.
However, since there are patterning all-over, I recommend this pattern to knitters with average, and above, knitting skills.
