I proudly present my pattern of this cozy, classic and very wearable slipover.

This is a tested pattern.
My testers worked wonderful samples. The list of testers is found at the bottom of these notes.

Design and construction
Classic slipover with lots of pattern-interest.
The slipover can be worked fitted, or over-sized and is perfect whenever you want a layering-piece. On top of tees, shirts, blouses, or underneath jackets or more tailored pieces.
Wear it dressed up, or down - it fits so many styles.

The slipover is worked bottom up and in-the-roung, starting from a rib-patterned hem that floats into the cable-patterns, the yo’s, twisted sts and cluster-sts of the lower body.
At underarms work is split for the upper back and front, which are worked flat in separate pieces.
The shoulders are seamed from WS.
The ribbed neck-edge and armhole-edges are worked from picked up and knit sts.

Sizes
There are 10 sizes to choose from.
Finished chest measurements:
32/34.5/37/39.5/42/44.5/47.5/50/52/55”.
The sample is worked in size 1.
I recommend 0 - 7.5 cm/0 - 3” of ease. For an oversized garment, you may work the size above, or even 2 sizes above.

Materials
Yarn: I worked my slipover using ”Devonia” in the colour-way ”Wood Smoke” from John Arbon Knits. This DK weight yarn comes in skeins of 100 gr/3.53 oz and 233 m/255 yards.
Of this specific yarn you need 620/680/740/800/860/920/980/1040/1100/1160 m = 675/745/810/875/940/1010/1070/1135/1200/1265 yards.
Needles Size 3 mm/US2.5 for the ribbed hem, neck-edge and armhole edges. Size 3.5 mm/US4 for the main body.
Choose needles to achieve the correct gauge.
Notions 4 removable stitch-markers, separate holders, blunt tapestry needle, blocking tools.

Gauge 25 sts and 30 rounds/rows in double moss-st pattern = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

The pattern
The pattern is tested.
All cables are charted, as well as written out, round-by-round.
There is a schematic.
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.

Techniques

• cast-on / bind-off
• picking up and knitting sts (neckline/armhole openings)
• seaming (the shoulder-sts. They are not long, but I would mention them)
• working cables, following charts and/or written instructions
• cluster sts (explained)
• twisted sts (explained)

Skill level: intermediate. There is no shaping involved (apart from shoulders/neck), which make this an easy knit.
The cable-patterns requires some skills.
