Originally designed as a gift for someone close to me, I’m offering this pattern for free until June 2025.

The simple but beautiful combination of these cables create a forest of fir trees in the Tannenbaum Hat. Not just for Christmas time, this hat will keep you warm through the chilly days of fall and winter. It works up quickly with the DK yarn.

Instructions for the cables are charted and written. The cables are simple enough those with little experience in cables can successfully knit the hat.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
You will need to know how to knit in the round on circular needles, and how to knit and purl. Instructions are given on how to complete the cables.

Yarn: DK weight, approximately 230 yds/ 210 m (pictured is Gloss DK in Captain from Knit Picks, 2 balls needed)

Needles: 3.75 mm (US size 5), 16 inch circular needles, DPNs
